Job Description:

We are looking for an Associate Attorney to join our mid-sized law firm in Sacramento, California. This position offers a unique opportunity for legal professionals to grow their expertise in civil litigation, particularly in employment law litigation, while contributing to a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing motions, and managing trial preparation
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients, ensuring their needs and objectives are met effectively
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to develop and execute case strategies
  • Research and draft legal memorandums, motions, and other critical court documents
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and depositions as needed
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with legal protocols and deadlines
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, particularly in employment law and civil litigation
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and high-quality service
  • Participate in skill development activities to enhance knowledge and expertise
  • Contribute to the firm’s overall success by fostering a team-oriented and supportive work environment

Requirements:

  • Active membership with the California State Bar
  • At least one year of post-bar experience in civil litigation, either plaintiff or defense
  • Proficiency in drafting motions, conducting discovery, and preparing legal briefs
  • Strong knowledge of employment law litigation or other civil litigation practice areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present arguments clearly and persuasively
  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Commitment to growth and maintaining ethical standards
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
