A national law firm representing banks seeks an associate attorney. The work involves issues when eminent domain or foreclosure goes awry, focusing on motions rather than depositions or discovery. The firm offers training and collaboration across departments.
Job Responsibility:
Work on issues related to eminent domain or foreclosure going awry (probate issues, ADA violations, expenses of administration prioritized over deed of trusts, partitioned actions during foreclosure)
Looking at causes of action, negligence or torts
Focused on motions: MSJs, motions to dismiss, IRAC motions
Requirements:
Must be barred in CA or NV
Must sit in one of the firm's states: WA, OR, CA, NV, ID, UT, NM, AZ, TX, AK, TN, AL, GA, FL, NY
Must know how to bill time in 6 minute increments and has met their billing requirement (1920 hours)
Exposure to drafting MSJs or motions to dismiss
CA bar license
Nice to have:
Knowledge of mortgages/real property
