Job Description

Growing law firm in San Mateo, CA has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney! As a key member of our team, you will represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and court hearings, ensuring their interests are vigorously defended. You’ll draft and review a variety of legal documents, collaborate closely with clients, expert witnesses, and firm partners to develop effective strategies, and provide timely, reliable counsel and updates throughout every stage of the case. Our firm values initiative, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering optimal outcomes for our clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case analysis, strategy, legal research, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Collaborate with clients, expert witnesses, and firm staff to achieve best case outcomes
  • Maintain client communication and provide strategic guidance

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active California State Bar membership (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in civil litigation preferred
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and written/oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation software
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently and collaborate as part of a team
