We are looking for an Associate Attorney to join a commercial litigation practice in Burlingame, California. Job Responsibility:
Manage commercial litigation matters through all phases, from early case assessment and pleadings to discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeal support
Draft persuasive legal documents, including motions, briefs, memoranda, and other filings requiring strong written advocacy and analytical precision
Conduct and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and participate in court appearances with increasing independence and strategic judgment
Oversee complex discovery efforts by developing case strategies, reviewing records, coordinating document production, and working through procedural disputes
Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to build case theories, evaluate evidence, and advance litigation objectives effectively
Assume substantive responsibility on significant matters, including opportunities to serve in first- or second-chair capacities where appropriate
Partner with experts, investigators, and other external resources to strengthen factual development and support litigation strategy
Contribute to a team-oriented legal environment focused on sophisticated advocacy and representation in impactful disputes
Requirements:
Active license to practice law and ability to handle litigation matters in a detail-oriented and client-focused manner
At least 5 years of experience in civil or commercial litigation, with a record of managing substantive case responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to take and defend depositions and appear confidently in court proceedings
Strong experience drafting motions and other litigation-related written work with clear, persuasive legal analysis
Knowledge of discovery practice, including managing complex fact development and procedural requirements
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding, fast-moving legal setting
Sound organizational and leadership skills, with the capacity to prioritize work and drive matters forward efficiently
