Job Description

A well-respected boutique law firm in Seattle is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys a balanced practice—supporting litigation matters in Commercial/Business, Employment, and Construction cases. This role will offer the ability to first chair arbitrations and trials and give complete ownership on cases with strong mentorship from partners at the firm.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
  • Manage discovery, including depositions, document review, and subpoenas
  • Appear in state and federal court for hearings, conferences, and trial preparation
  • Assist with strategy development and case management
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts
  • Assist with entity formation, corporate governance, and general counsel support
  • Participate in M&A due diligence and transaction support
  • Advise small and mid-size businesses on compliance and operational matters

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar (or ability to waive in)
  • 2+ years of experience in Litigation (Civil or Criminal)
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage your own caseload
  • Commitment to high-quality client service and collaborative teamwork

Nice to have

  • Prior experience handling depositions or significant discovery work
  • Familiarity with contract drafting and business law fundamentals
  • Comfort working directly with clients
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in growing with the firm
