Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation

• Handle all aspects of civil litigation, including product liability defense, from pre-litigation assessment through trial
• Take and defend depositions
• manage written discovery and case evaluation
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements
• Represent clients in court proceedings: hearings, status calls, pretrials, trials, and mediations
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court, providing litigation updates and case evaluations
• Collaborate efficiently with partners, associates, and support staff while helping develop case management systems

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active Illinois bar license (additional state licenses a plus)
• 5–7 years of civil defense litigation experience (product liability background preferred)
• Proven record taking/defending depositions, conducting discovery, and managing all phases of defense litigation
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases with limited supervision
• Previous trial and ADR experience highly valued

Additional experience in personal injury, civil rights litigation, mass torts, or medical malpractice is a plus
