A well‑respected boutique law firm in Seattle is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys a balanced practice—supporting litigation matters while also handling a steady flow of transactional work for closely held businesses, entrepreneurs, and local companies. Job Responsibility

  • Litigation (Civil & Commercial): Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
  • Manage discovery, including depositions, document review, and subpoenas
  • Appear in state and federal court for hearings, conferences, and trial preparation
  • Assist with strategy development and case management
  • Business Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts
  • Assist with entity formation, corporate governance, and general counsel support
  • Participate in M& A due diligence and transaction support
  • Advise small and mid‑size businesses on compliance and operational matters

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar (or ability to waive in)
  • 2–6+ years of experience in civil/commercial litigation and/or business transactions
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters with excellent attention to detail
  • Commitment to high‑quality client service and collaborative teamwork

Nice to have

  • Prior experience handling depositions or significant discovery work
  • Familiarity with contract drafting and business law fundamentals
  • Comfort working directly with clients
