As an Associate Application Engineer, you will write and maintain code for applications in a high‑level language (XML), translating a manufacturing biological process into machine instructions. You will conduct developer tests, participate in integration tests, and contribute to technical reports. You will also support key customers and users of the applications by contributing to the analysis of machine data and writing investigation reports. Our Applications Team builds software that automates customer workflows using Cytiva equipment, supports system testing, and works closely with key customers. Job Responsibility:
Write and maintain code for applications in a high‑level language (XML), translating a manufacturing biological process into machine instructions
Conduct developer tests, participate in integration tests, and contribute to technical reports
Support key customers and users of the applications by contributing to the analysis of machine data and writing investigation reports
Be part of R&D Biological Applications Team, learn and master the Applications product lifecycle, and be able to conduct as well as support the execution of a project in context of Cell Biology
Contribute to the functional requirements analysis and technical solution design, learn the Cytiva CGT Applications code base, improve coding skills, write and maintain code for applications in high level language (XML)
Conduct developer tests, participate to integration tests, contribute to technical reports
Contribute to continuous integration, continuous testing, and continuous delivery pipelines in Azure DevOps
Learn new technologies quickly and work in a cross-functional engineering team
Work closely with other engineers (i.e. electrical, mechanical, software, material) and biologists, support key customers and users of the Applications by contributing in the analysis of machine data and in writing investigation reports
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent field
Familiar with software development, including background in at least one programming language, development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall), and source‑code management tools such as GitHub
Versed in CI/CD concepts and Microsoft Azure DevOps
Skilled in any markup language (e.g. XML, TeX, HTML) or in Python
Fluent in English language (written and spoken)
Nice to have:
Hands‑on experience in an R&D department within the Life Science industry
Knowledge and practical experience of relevant regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, cGMP), specifically for the US and European market
