Job Description:

Situated within the Corporate Affairs function, the Associate Analyst, Issues Media Monitoring and Reporting will be part of the Center of Excellence for Media and Issues Communications, and responsible for executing monitoring and reporting on issues impacting PepsiCo’s reputation and business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute issue monitoring activities for external communications team and PepsiCo leadership, including: sharing relevant breaking news, providing coverage analysis and reporting on issues, maintaining search term list and subscriptions, collaborating with data and reporting team and/or agency partners during crisis moments
  • Deliver timely, actionable data-driven reporting during crisis levering full PepsiCo Communications tech stack for comprehensive analysis.
  • A mix of long-term and short-term issue monitoring delivering a mix of daily, monthly and quarterly reporting on issues impacting PepsiCo globally.
  • Partner on the creation and curation of a multiple time a day, high-quality issues news clip reports
  • Support broader issues communications work, including managing incoming media inquiries, assisting with issues tracking and creation of reporting materials, and support daily, ad hoc and quarterly issues reporting work
  • Leverage reporting tools and technologies to drive efficiency into issues reporting.
  • As needed, collaborate with agency partners on corporate communications projects and deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required in relevant field (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing)
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in an agency, press office, corporate communications or public affairs office and/or media outlet
  • Demonstrated experience in media coverage analysis and reporting
  • Proficient with media monitoring and reporting technology
  • Data-minded and savvy with leveraging data to story tell
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States

  • Protective Research & Threat Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis on persons of interest (POIs), hostile actors, and groups with the intent or capability to target principals. Assess motivations, capability, opportunity, and intent to identify potential attack indicators.
  • Travel Risk Intelligence: Provide proactive intelligence support to executive protection teams during domestic and international travel, including country risk assessments, route reconnaissance, hotel and venue security reviews, and incident monitoring during trips. Deliver timely updates to traveling principals and EP teams.
  • Protective Operations Support: Deliver actionable, real-time intelligence to EP teams in support of principal movements, protective advances, route planning, and residence/event security. Maintain constant threat environment awareness and communicate relevant changes.
  • Geopolitical & Environmental Risk Tracking: Monitor global and regional security issues, including terrorism, political unrest, crime trends, natural disasters, and health risks—that could affect principals’ safety during travel or at residences/events.
  • Actionable Reporting & Products: Produce timely, clear, and actionable intelligence products including: Threat assessments (strategic and tactical), Travel risk assessments (pre-trip and in-trip updates), Situation reports (SITREPs) and incident summaries, Route and location assessments (residences, hotels, venues, offices)
  • Threat Mitigation Recommendations: Provide practical, proportionate recommendations to EP teams on how to mitigate identified threats, risks, and vulnerabilities. Offer clear triggers and indicators for escalation or operational adjustments.
