This is a full-time, fully remote position open to candidates based in the United States. This role is responsible for building strong client relationships and providing high-quality accounting and consulting services to our governmental clients. Job Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local governmental entities, including municipalities, counties, utilities, and nonprofit component units, to market and expand Chazin’s services
  • Provide proactive, knowledgeable support related to governmental accounting and financial operations
  • Manage a portfolio of clients with professionalism, accuracy, and responsiveness
  • Cultivate external partnerships with auditors, vendors, bankers, and government agencies such as the State Comptroller’s Office
  • Conduct reviews of client systems and internal controls, providing recommendations for improvement and cost efficiency
  • Develop and manage onboarding checklists, timelines, and ongoing service processes
  • Provide CFO-level advisory and consulting services to clients
  • Lead or contribute to teaching and speaking engagements on governmental accounting, auditing, and GASB updates
  • Implement new policies and procedures and communicate key initiatives to team members and Executive Management
  • Participate in management meetings, retreats, and special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of ten years progressive general accounting experience
  • At least three years of experience leading and managing a team
  • CPA license preferred
  • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards, GAAP, upcoming GASB standards implementations and ACFR preparation
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively
  • Experience coaching staff, evaluating performance, and participating in hiring decisions
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, internal controls, and process improvement
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to proactive client service and maintaining high professional standards
