Associate – Investment Funds (4–6 PQE) About the Opportunity A leading global law firm is seeking a highly qualified Associate to join its market-leading Investment Funds practice. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with some of the world’s most sophisticated fund sponsors, asset managers, and institutional investors across the private capital landscape. The team advises across the full spectrum of private capital managers, acting for established global private equity firms, asset management platforms, emerging managers, and strategic investors. The practice offers exposure to complex fund formation, sponsor structuring, fundraising, and regulatory matters across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions. The Practice The Investment Funds team advises on the formation and structuring of a broad range of private investment vehicles, including buyout, venture, credit, and other alternative investment strategies. Lawyers work closely with clients on all aspects of fund structuring and fundraising, while also supporting day-to-day operational, governance, compliance, and regulatory matters. The team also has significant experience advising on secondary transactions and complex sponsor-side strategic matters. With a fully integrated global platform, the practice provides sophisticated advice across securities, tax, and regulatory issues, helping clients navigate evolving market and compliance environments worldwide. The Role This position is suited to a 4th through 6th year associate with strong experience in private investment fund formation and related fund operational matters. Key responsibilities include: Advising fund sponsors on the structuring and formation of private investment funds across multiple asset classes Supporting fundraising processes and investor negotiations Assisting with sponsor structuring, internal arrangements, and governance matters Advising on co-investments, secondaries, and other strategic fund transactions Managing day-to-day fund operational, compliance, and regulatory matters Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across tax, regulatory, and transactional practices Candidate Profile Minimum of 3 years’ experience in private investment fund formation from a leading law firm Strong experience advising on fund structuring, fundraising, and sponsor-side matters Exposure to fund operations, governance, compliance, and regulatory matters Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills Strong academic credentials Commercially minded with strong client relationship skills Ability to manage complex matters in a fast-paced, high-performance environment Why Apply Join one of the most highly regarded Investment Funds practices globally Work with leading private equity sponsors, asset managers, and institutional investors Exposure to sophisticated fund structures and high-value transactions Collaborative international platform with exceptional deal flow Strong long-term career progression and development opportunities
