The Assisted Living Clinical Nursing Manager works with internal and external entities to recruit, select, supervise, mentor, educate, appraise and counsel clinical team members according to Sun Health policies and procedures. This position will report to the Assisted Living Director.
Job Responsibility:
Recruit, select, supervise, mentor, educate, appraise and counsel clinical team members according to Sun Health policies and procedures
Coordinate and at times provide nursing care to residents, including but not limited to, completion of health assessments, completion of resident care plans and reviewing them with resident family members and or power of attorney, discussing changes in resident condition with physicians, introduce interventions to reduce falls based on individual resident needs
Coordinate and at times provide medication administration and help with resident care, as needed
Determine coordination of clinical and medication service needs according to state specific regulations
In collaboration with Director of AL & Memory Care, coordinate, complete and/or review data reports and queries in compliance with Sun Health's Resident Care Quality programs and protocols
Direct resident well being according to state regulations to ensure appropriate and acceptable standards of clinical care
Direct the medication program according to state regulations to ensure appropriate and acceptable standards of care and adequate staffing
Facilitate initial and ongoing training for medication administration team members as well as other community team members as necessary and as applicable based on state specific regulations and Sun Health policies and procedures
Monitor and audit to ensure that the medication system meets state specific and community standards
Maintain ongoing collaboration with clinical services to ensure effective and efficient procurement and delivery as needed
In conjunction with the community's multidisciplinary nursing team, coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment and care needs to determine whether the community team can meet the prospect's required level of care
Accountable for timely assessments and accurate care plans in the electronic health record, plus communication with Business Office Manager any additional areas given for accurate resident billing
Implement, maintain, and monitor compliance of nursing services and documentation as required and/or allowed by state specific regulation
Ensure compliance with OSHA, MDS, FDA and Fire Safety standards as it relates to clinical systems and resident care
Comply with
Federal, State and local laws pertaining to long-term care, as well as the facilities policies and procedures
Review and coordinate completion of incident reports that are health or injury related and develop/monitor plans of correction in accordance with Sun Health's policies and procedures
Ensure effective resident council, family council and support group meetings in accordance with state specific regulations and Sun Health's policies and procedures
Maintain networks with external organizations that specialize in senior care to keep informed and up to date on current clinical trends in treatment and research
Maintain a working knowledge of state regulations, and policies and procedures dictated by compliance
Develop and maintain a good working-relationship with Federal, State and local agencies and with the Residents physicians

Requirements:
Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse currently licensed by the State of Arizona
Prior experience in assisted living and memory care preferred
Willing to pursue AL licensure
Must be cheerful, create positive atmosphere
to be responsive to needs of residents, visitors, team members, and willing to assist with team projects
Possess current or has the ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required
