The town of Falmouth is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated professional to join the Building Division of our Community Development Department as a full-time Assistant Zoning Compliance Agent. This position plays a key role in protecting the community’s safety, accessibility, and quality of life by ensuring compliance with local zoning bylaws, wetlands ordinances, historic regulations, and other applicable requirements. This is a full-time, benefited position that works at the Falmouth Town Hall and in the field 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend work required on an overtime basis.
Job Responsibility:
Ensuring compliance with local zoning bylaws, wetlands ordinances, historic regulations, and other applicable requirements
protecting the community’s safety, accessibility, and quality of life
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four years of increasingly responsible experience in a regulatory or enforcement field
any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
valid Massachusetts driver’s license
Nice to have:
Associate degree in planning or a related field and/or experience as a zoning or regulatory board member
working knowledge of building permit applications, Zoning Board of Appeals applications, Planning Board decisions, and historic review processes
