The Assistant Women's Rowing Coach supports the Head Coach in the development and administration of an NCAA Division I rowing program. Responsibilities include coaching, mentoring, program development, recruiting, public relations, community engagement, and administrative duties. All activities must be conducted in compliance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations.
Job Responsibility
Assist in developing sport-specific systems and strategies, with a focus on tactical instruction and student-athlete development
Evaluate student-athletes to identify strengths and areas for improvement
design instructional opportunities to enhance technical and strategic execution
Provide individualized skill instruction, supervision, and motivation to student-athletes
Support the planning and execution of annual, seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily practice sessions
Assist in conducting conditioning programs in coordination with strength and conditioning staff, using industry-approved methods to improve athletic performance
Participate in all practice sessions, incorporating foundational and advanced sport strategies as appropriate
Integrate position- or event-specific instruction into daily practice plans as directed by the Head Coach
Foster a team environment that supports holistic student-athlete development
Maintain close collaboration with athletic training and strength & conditioning staff regarding injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation
Assist with or manage NCAA compliance documentation and record-keeping
Coordinate or support team travel logistics
Operate and transport coaching launches, trucks, and boat trailers in accordance with safety standards
Schedule practices, team meetings, video sessions, and player meetings in collaboration with Athletics Facilities staff
Assist with scheduling fall and spring competitions
Manage or support video exchange, scouting reports, and film analysis for player development
Assist in planning and executing alumni and fundraising events
Monitor NCAA eligibility requirements and educate student-athletes on relevant rules and regulations
Collaborate with academic advisors to monitor academic progress and support student-athlete success
Coordinate with the Equipment Manager to monitor and maintain equipment condition
Work with Athletics Facilities staff to ensure sport-related facilities and locker rooms are maintained
Stay informed on internal and external issues affecting the athletic program
Collaborate with the Sports Information Director (SID) on media relations, promotions, and awards
Participate in periodic program evaluations to identify areas for improvement and enhance operational efficiency
Complete annual Title IX education and training
Assist with or manage all aspects of the student-athlete recruitment process
As an NCAA-certified recruiter, research, scout, evaluate, and contact prospective student-athletes in compliance with all regulations
Coordinate official and unofficial campus visits in collaboration with university and department staff
Build and maintain relationships with high school and junior college coaches, club coaches, and national governing body representatives to enhance program visibility
Maintain and utilize a master recruiting database to support strategic decision-making and program evaluation

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
3 years of related experience
Valid drivers license with good driving record
CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire
In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.
Nice to have
College level and/or Division I rowing competition and/or coaching experience
Demonstrated experience working in a leadership role in a collaborative environment
Demonstrated knowledge of Northwest region as it pertains to recruiting
Demonstrated experience with sport specific and compliance software.
