We are hiring an Assistant Video Editor to join a top media/entertainment company in San Francisco, CA! The Assistant Editor provides editorial support to & collaborates with the creative content production & editorial team.
Job Responsibility:
Ingest, transcode, log and label incoming media (video, images, audio, and graphics from outside vendors) into the Avid / Avid MediaCentral Production Management, following protocols for uniform naming, identification and organization of Avid projects, files and network folders
Sync audio & video
Help maintain Avid project and sequence organization
Research, collect, log and digitize assets for editorial
Pull and edit rough assemblies of sound bites and B-roll selects
Export projects in all formats requested
Gather sources for finishing and uprez Avid timelines
Create audio splits, textless passes, and other alternate versions requested by clients (including passes needed for localization)
QC final exports
Logging and transcribing support as needed, and sync scripts in Avid
Archive projects as needed
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in video production and editorial
Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
Substantive knowledge of Avid and post production software, file types, frame rates, and codecs
Experience with: setting up projects to specs, managing media, pulling selects, exports, mix prep, color prep, conform prep, syncing footage, working with multiple source formats, cleaning up timelines
Self-starter who can troubleshoot technical issues that arise
Understanding of post production pipeline / offline to online & conform workflows preferred
Experience with mix prep, color prep, conform prep, working with multiple source formats, aspect ratios, cleaning up timelines preferred
Eager to grow and excited by new challenges
Able to keep up in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Capable of making sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions
