Job Description:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Video Editor to support a fast-paced creative production and editorial team. This is a 9-month contract with potential for conversion, offering a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite in San Francisco). This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in post-production workflows who thrives in a collaborative, high-volume environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ingest, transcode, log, and organize incoming media (video, audio, graphics) within Avid and media management systems
  • Sync audio and video, maintain project organization, and ensure consistent file naming and structure
  • Pull selects and assist with rough assemblies of sound bites and B-roll
  • Prepare and export content in multiple formats for various deliverables
  • Support finishing workflows, including conform prep, audio splits, textless versions, and localization needs
  • Conduct quality control on final exports to ensure accuracy and technical standards
  • Assist with asset research, logging, transcriptions, and project archiving

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in video production and editorial environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Avid (minimum 3+ years required) and post-production workflows
  • Solid understanding of media formats, codecs, frame rates, and file management
  • Experience supporting end-to-end post workflows (offline to online, conform, color and mix prep)
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Proven experience working within an editorial team (not solely freelance or independent work)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve, color correction, or motion graphics
  • Familiarity with high-volume, multi-format production environments
