In Audit, you'll play a crucial role in providing independent, reliable, and insightful assurance to the Board and executive management. Your work will focus on evaluating the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control over current and evolving risks, adhering to international auditing standards and adapting to the changing business environment. Join us as an Assistant Vice President at Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) in Hong Kong.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support collaborative audit reviews to provide independent assurance
  • Contribute to audit planning and execution, risk assessment, control evaluation, and issue resolution
  • Deliver high-quality audit observations
  • Support the development of actionable recommendations to improve business processes
  • Support the development of audits aligned to the bank’s standards and objectives
  • Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management
  • Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the BIA Audit Plan
  • Assessment of internal control effectiveness
  • Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice

Requirements:

  • Prior audit or control experience in the financial industry, preferably with global markets, investment banking, and/or corporate banking
  • Understanding of the relevant regulatory and compliance environment in Hong Kong
  • understanding of the regulatory environment in the rest of Asia is a plus
  • Background in data analytics (e.g., Python, SQL) is preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as CIA, CPA, or CISA, are preferred
  • Legal Right to Work in Hong Kong
