The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Student Life provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered campus experience. The AVP directly oversees the Offices of Student Accountability and Academic Integrity, Student Engagement and Traditions, and the Webb Student Center as well as the Student Government Association. The AVP plays a critical role in enhancing student engagement, retention, and success by cultivating programs, services, and partnerships that enrich student life and align with Student and Campus Life (SCL) divisional goals and institutional priorities. As a member of the Vice President for Student and Campus Life’s Cabinet, the AVP collaborates with senior leaders across the division and university to advocate for student needs, drive data-informed decision making, and supports a holistic student experience. The AVP reports directly to the Senior Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Dean of Students.
Job Responsibility:
Provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered campus experience

Collaborates with senior leaders across the division and university to advocate for student needs, drive data-informed decision making, and supports a holistic student experience
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field
Demonstrated success in developing and assessing student-centered programs and services
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of student life
Considerable years of progressively responsible leadership experience in student affairs, with supervision of professional staff and oversight of multiple functional areas
Considerable experience managing complex budgets and leading cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
Doctorate in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or related discipline
Considerable, in-depth knowledge of student development theory and high-impact practices
Proven success collaborating at the cabinet or senior leadership level
Considerable experience overseeing student conduct, student union operations, or large-scale traditions/events
