Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Assistant Vice President for our Data Science Team, responsible for driving the development and implementation of advanced analytical solutions to support key business objectives. This role requires strong leadership skills with a proven track record of collaborating in high-performing teams, delivering impactful insights, and fostering a data-driven culture.

Job Responsibility:

Supporting model validation process for Model Risk Management
Develop and implement automated solutions to manage the increasing volume of models
Oversee the development of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and other advanced analytical techniques
Document data requirements, data collection/processing/cleaning, and exploratory data analysis
Interface between business and technology partners for digitizing data collection
Offer technical guidance related to model implementation
Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management
Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in data science and analytics
Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements
Work with large and complex data sets to evaluate, recommend, and support implementation of business strategies
Develop and execute the data science and analytics strategy
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made
Act as a senior data scientist and deliver on organizational priorities

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in Data Science roles
Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques
Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
Ability to leverage data science tools & techniques for analytics problem solving for organizational needs
Experience in Developing and Deploying AI solutions in partnership with Tech and Business
Experience with any banking applications (e.g., fraud detection, risk management, expense/operation management, legal/customer analytics)
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security
Experience in interacting with senior stakeholders across the organization
AI / Gen AI proficiency and thought leadership in Financial/Business Analysis and/or credit/risk analysis
Analytics thought leadership skills & Manage project planning effectively
In-depth understanding of the various financial service business models
Expert knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and how to apply the techniques to drive substantial business results
Creative problem-solving skills
