OVERVIEW: The APAC Data Center Physical Provisioning (DCPP) discipline is responsible for managing and tracking of all activity within the current and future-processing environment in the data centers. This functional group, in conjunction, with the DCSD monitors all BAU and projects’ including hardware installs and upgrades, as well as breaks / fixes trouble related activity. It also assures the proper and timely coordination and escalation of all processing problems along with documentation on a daily basis. This discipline acts as the managing interface to Real Estate Services (RES). DCPP coordinates RES activities within the facility and is ultimately responsible for the management and control of the data center raised floor. DCPP is responsible for the receipt, placement, and installation of hardware on the processing floor. They must ensure compliance and enforce all rules and standards, by assuming an active lead role, in the change control process.
Job Responsibility
Lead the team that maintains current updates to the inventory control systems
Update documentation such as procedures and audit documents
Update the weekly report and distribute to administration
Lead team on project priorities within the site along with key updates to the SP site
Create the weekly rack and stack change control list
Authorize changes throughout the day for records assigned to DCPP
Distribute the daily and weekend changes for the site
Resolve trouble tickets assigned to DCPP
Perform hardware elevations for various new hardware installations
Coordinate facility activities such as electrical installs, UPS functions, new equipment installation and/or the de-installation of old equipment with Site Management
Monitor and respond to all facility type emergencies (i.e. transferring to UPS power, loss of water to the building etc.)
Coordinate hardware installs with the DCSD Team Lead
Lead all asset disposal activities to ensure compliance
Maintain the DC floor space and lead all capacity planning efforts (racks, power whips / ceeforms, and fiber/copper infrastructure)
Lead the annually asset reconciliation
Coordinate strategic transformation/optimization activities in his/her respective site
Responsible for managing and maintaining Network Capacity within respective Data Center
Manage all CASP vendor infrastructure procurements which will include Citi three quote submission policy
If applicable, DCPP lead may need to manage all off-site co-location site’s asset reconciliations, inventory logistic shipments (inbound & outbound), and DCIM/SNOW workflows (installs and decommissions)
Engage himself as an SME(Subject Matter Expert) with all other activities as needed
Requirements
A minimum of a BA degree in business administration, Computer Science, Engineering and/or seven years of prior data center operations experience in the implementation, maintenance and analysis of data center facilities, hardware, and communications infrastructure.
Strong background in data center strategies, tools and effective troubleshooting techniques.
Hands-on individual with multiple hardware platform knowledge (HP, Dell, EMC, IBM, Cisco, Cloud Computing, etc.) is required.
Strong background on enterprise data center facilities and infrastructure environments such as PDUs, RPPs, Network and SAN infrastructures.
Strong background on complex Enterprise class inter-networked environments.
Excellent organizational skills and a people oriented management style preferred.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to multi task to lead several priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
Excellent Communication and Writing skills.
Knowledge of the Service Now, DCIM, VISIO, CAD, Microsoft Technologies, project management processes and associated tools.
Logical problem solving techniques and associated experience in system, data center facilities, and telecommunications.
Proven leadership and detailed enterprise project management skills are a must.
Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus.
Bi-lingual Required - Business Level English and Japanese JLPT N2
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
