Job Overview: This intermediate-level position is designed to support both Client Service and Securities Transaction Management functions, serving as a pivotal role in the organization. The successful candidate will leverage a comprehensive understanding of client needs and transaction processes to drive efficiency, ensure control, and enhance the overall client experience, particularly within the Japanese market. Overall Objective: The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions while also providing comprehensive client support and issue resolution. This position is central to the re-organization, requiring expertise in both Client Service and Securities Transaction Management.
Job Responsibility
Act as a centralized point of contact for inquiries related to client settlement processes and portfolio matters (Asset Services)
Provide clients with resolutions and support, addressing external customer issues and offering ongoing customer service
Liaise with internal and external cross-functional partners to provide customer service that consistently meets client expectations
Identify, propose, implement, and support process improvements
Contribute to short-term and long-term projects, collaborating with global partners
Serve as the 'face' of key institutional investors, navigating the complexities of the Japanese market
Process securities transactions and orders originating from trading desks and branch offices
Provide analytical input for traders and assist in the review of derivative products
Facilitate the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions
Resolve settlement-related issues, escalate as needed, and recommend solutions for complex problems
Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies to make process improvement recommendations
Participate in the implementation of assigned projects (new products, services, platform upgrades)
Identify policy gaps and formulate new policies to enhance the streamlining of trade flow processes
Provide informal guidance and on-the-job training to new team members
Maintain robust controls compliant with regulations and internal policies
Assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup's reputation, clients, and assets
Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, adhere to Policy, and apply sound ethical judgment
Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency
Requirements
Expertise and experience in Securities Settlement Operations / Custody Operations, with particular knowledge in Japanese Equity and Fixed Income trade/settlement matching for both domestic and non-resident clients, collateral and pledge setting in the Japanese market, and corporate action
Proactive and strong drive for issue identification, prevention, and resolution with a high-risk mindset
Collaborates with both regional and global teams to lead initiatives
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally
Capability of utilizing various reporting tools and applications
Demonstrated ability to drive results in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
Business level English and Japanese proficiency
Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
