The Assistant Vice President (AVP) roles within Consumer Credit Risk are pivotal positions responsible for safeguarding the integrity, compliance, and operational excellence of credit risk management activities. Job Responsibility:
Data Management & Governance: Overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of credit risk data
Ensuring accuracy, integrity, security, and quality of data
Implementing robust data governance frameworks and controls
Managing data integration from various sources, especially third-party credit bureaus
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to legal and regulatory standards (FCRA, OCC, CFPB, Federal Reserve)
Applying compliance across all data processes, systems, and reporting
Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to data quality, credit risk models, and regulatory non-compliance
Implementing strong controls and proactive monitoring mechanisms
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as a key liaison and collaborating with internal stakeholders (e.g., Risk, IT, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Business units)
Engaging with external parties (vendors, regulators, auditors) to align credit risk strategies and operational objectives
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Leading initiatives to drive automation, enhance efficiency, and improve scalability of data management, testing, and compliance
Leveraging emerging technologies such as AI/ML
Strategy and Operations: Contributing to the development and implementation of credit risk strategies
Optimizing data usage and managing vendor relationships
Ensuring operational excellence in credit risk processes
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Finance, Risk Management, IT)
Master's degree or specialized certifications (credit risk, data governance, financial analysis) are highly advantageous
Proven experience in consumer credit risk management or financial services
Deep understanding of credit risk models, decisioning systems, and regulatory reporting
Strong capabilities in data analysis, data integration, and managing complex data sets
Proficiency with relevant technical tools and platforms (e.g., SAS, SQL)
Strong analytical mindset to interpret complex data and identify issues
Ability to provide actionable insights and drive effective solutions in dynamic environments
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences (senior leadership, technical teams, external stakeholders)
