Job Description:

The Data Analytics AVP is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Job Responsibility:

Develops and supports Computer Assisted Audit Techniques and Tools (CAATTs) primarily using Python, SAS and SQL
Support Risk Based Audits and Issue Validation through independent testing of data sets across multiple platforms
Performs independent testing of business data extractions and segmentations for completeness, accuracy and applicability to internal audit testing and regulatory requirements
Test controls through the acquisition of data and information related to business processes, procedures, and database environments
Develops and supports reporting to monitor the risk environment and assesses emerging risks through the business monitoring process
Provides Management Information support including production and management of governance and regulatory reporting
Demonstrates strong judgment, political astuteness, and sensitivity to cultural diversity
Coordinates and contribute to the objectives of data science initiatives and overall business through leveraging in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function
Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications and make strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis
Mines and analyzes data from various banking platforms to drive optimization and improve data quality
Delivers analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to identify data required, assess time & effort required and establish a project plan
Consults with business clients to identify system functional specifications
Leads system change process from requirements through implementation
Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards

Requirements:

6+ years experience using tools for statistical modeling of large data sets
Ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem solving techniques
Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Technology (IT) preferred
5 + years of experience in a related role with intermediate to advanced experience in SAS, SQL, Python and Tableau
Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views
Experience supporting a Consumer business in the financial sector is preferred
Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external audit and management
Prior internal audit experience and/or statistical experience is a plus
