Job Description:

The Assistant Vice President - Cross Border Enablement and Controls role at HSBC focuses on implementing and embedding a new cross-border controls framework, overseeing compliance and monitoring procedures, providing subject matter expertise, and enhancing training programs. The individual will act as the first point of contact to help the business understand relevant regulations and collaborate with internal teams to ensure regulatory consistency. This role involves significant responsibility in Asset Management and cross-border regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implementation and embedding of the new cross-border controls framework
  • Assist the roll-out of the new cross-border controls framework across Asset Management
  • Being the single point of contact to answer questions relating to the new framework and new tools
  • Support ongoing monitoring and overseeing of cross border controls
  • Produce global market intelligence
  • Support local Asset Management entities to implement controls framework locally
  • Identify and escalate issues and propose feasible solutions
  • Monitor testing, development, and implementation of technical solutions
  • Ensure controls process is operationally effective
  • Ensure process and deliverables meet accuracy and quality standards
  • Produce timely Market Intelligence for governance forums
  • Support development/enhancement of cross-border training
  • Assist in tracking training completion
  • Act as the first point of contact for understanding cross-border regulations
  • Work with Regulatory Compliance and Legal teams to ensure consistent regulatory interpretation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, law or a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in Finance Industry, specifically within Asset Management is desirable
  • 4-5 years of experience in risks and controls management with a focus on cross border regulation or regulatory compliance
  • Experience working with Legal or Regulatory Compliance professionals to respond to business inquiries or requests for information
  • Proven experience in team management, leadership and performance optimization
  • Strong organization skills with a focus on achieving results through collaboration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with different teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with Legal or Regulatory Compliance professionals to respond to business inquiries or requests for information
  • Experience in risks and controls management with a focus on cross border regulation or regulatory compliance
