Job Responsibility

Reviewing Broker presentations and underwriting risks in line with authority levels
Underwriting profitable business and contributing towards the maintenance of acceptable Loss ratios
Implementing KPIs for New Business Growth
Collaborating with colleagues and Key Account Managers to secure business
Learn & adopt systems, product lines and internal procedures
Provide technical expertise for scheme business to Brokers and Internal Stakeholders
Prospecting and Networking with designated Broker partners
Assisting with scheme testing, identifying product enhancements and rating initiatives

Requirements

At least 2 years’ experience in D&O underwriting or a related commercial insurance role
Experience working with technology and professional services clients
Good understanding of D&O cover and how these policies are structured
Solid understanding of D&O insurance and the UK market
Good attention to detail with the ability to analyse financial and risk information
Strong communication skills and confidence when speaking with brokers and colleagues
Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Comfortable using underwriting platforms and general IT tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Interest in the tech and professional services space

Job Responsibility

Support the underwriting of new and renewal D&O business, mainly for tech and professional risk clients
Assist in reviewing financials, risk information and background details to help make underwriting decisions
Prepare and issue quotes, binders and policy documents in line with company guidelines
Communicate with brokers to gather information, clarify terms and support negotiations
Keep underwriting records and systems accurate and up to date
Help with portfolio tracking, reporting and supporting senior underwriters with strategic tasks
Stay aware of changes in the D&O market and industry trends that may affect clients or underwriting decisions
Review and assess incoming risks and prepare documents to support the quoting process
Deal with broker queries and help agree terms and pricing

Requirements

Minimum of three years' experience as a Commercial Insurance Advisor
Proven experience advising, quoting, and placing a wide range of commercial insurance products
Experience handling larger and more complex SME cases with premiums typically ranging from £1,000 to £10,000 or more
Background exclusively in personal lines insurance is not suitable for this role
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and underwriting processes
Excellent communication, advisory, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organised
Attention to detail in documentation and client interactions
Willingness to mentor junior colleagues while continuing personal development

Job Responsibility

Manage a portfolio of SME clients, handling policy reviews and renewals
Advise clients on commercial insurance products, including package policies, motor trade, motor fleet, management liability, cargo, and cyber
