The town of Bourne, an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer, has an opening for a full time Assistant Town Planner. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to the Town Planner in carrying out a wide range of duties and responsibilities for the Planning department in the areas of: zoning and preexisting non-conformities, subdivision control, site plan review, GIS, and affordable housing. Attendance at public meetings is expected. The Assistant Planner supports town-wide planning initiatives and goals pertaining to the Local Comprehensive Plan and duties will include site plan – special permit review, transportation planning, supporting the creation of affordable housing, comprehensive wastewater planning, and climate resiliency planning.
Job Responsibility:

Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in municipal or regional planning or closely related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience
At least two years of employment experience
Preferred candidate has a minimum of two years Massachusetts municipal planning experience
