Job Description

The Assistant Tennis Professional supports the Head Tennis Professional in delivering exceptional tennis and pickleball programs by leading private lessons, clinics, and group activities for guests of all ages and skill levels. This role plays a key part in creating engaging, high-quality experiences that reflect the highest standards of instruction, guest service, and professionalism.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist Head Tennis Professional in delivering tennis and pickleball lessons, clinics, and group programming
  • Support pickleball growth
  • Manage pro shop systems, retail needs, racquet stringing, and equipment recommendations
  • Provide welcoming, high-level guest experience including facility orientation, program explanation, equipment and towel service, and accurate entry of guest information into reservation system
  • Maintain tennis shop and facilities including court setup and breakdown, cleaning, organizing retail areas, and keeping supplies fully stocked
  • Answer phones and manage reservations to Four Seasons standards
  • Professionally assist guests with resort and local information
  • Maintain strong knowledge of programs and court availability
  • Anticipate guest needs, recognize returning guests, and provide personalized service
  • Ability to drive to support coverage at Koele Tennis Facility in Lanai City

Requirements

  • Legal work authorization in United States
  • Holidays and weekends availability is required
  • Tuberculous (TB) clearance card required by Hawaii State Department of Health
  • Valid Hawaii Driver's License
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 60 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the tennis industry as a full-time instructor preferred
  • Experience in a resort, country club, or luxury tennis environment is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills with keen attention to detail and ability to maintain organized workspace
  • Professional demeanor with ability to remain composed in a fast-paced, medium-volume setting
  • Willingness to learn and assist with group programming including adult cardio tennis, junior clinics and advanced player clinics
  • Ability to work individually with players of all levels from beginner to advanced
  • Minimum NTRP rating of 4.5 required
  • 5.0 preferred

Nice to have

  • Experience in a resort, country club, or luxury tennis environment
  • NTRP rating of 5.0 preferred
