As the oldest Cornish pasty maker in the world, we pride ourselves on delivering delicious baked goods and brilliant customer service. We are now seeking a Full Time Assistant Store Manager to join us in the Petrol Station in Trago Mills Devon for 39 hours a week. Our store is open every day of the week, with operating hours from 6.30am to 16.30pm (9am-16.30pm on Sunday). Please note that these hours are subject to change throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be available to work flexible hours across all seven days and must be able to work weekends.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of the shop, ensuring smooth functioning and exceptional customer service
Assist in supervising and training a team of dedicated staff to maintain high-quality standards in product preparation, presentation, and customer interactions
Monitor inventory levels, handle stock takes, receive deliveries to ensure a well-stocked and organised shop
Assist in creating and implementing efficient operational procedures to maximise productivity and minimise waste
Support the Store Manager in managing employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels and optimizing customer service
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer enquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and visually appealing shop, adhering to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with the Store Manager in developing and executing marketing strategies to drive sales and promote new products or seasonal offerings
Contribute to team meetings, sharing ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement of operations
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new product offerings, and customer preferences to enhance the shop’s competitiveness
Requirements:
Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role, preferably in the food industry
Strong passion for baked goods and knowledge of different bakery products
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Capable of working independently and unsupervised, to meet the business’s operational needs
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the shop
Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems is a plus
A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and grow within the retail industry
