Job Responsibility:
Assists the Store Manager with the store’s day to day operations
Implements strategies and processes to drive customer service, store sales and profitability
Provides assistance and support to management in supervising and facilitating the daily operations of the store
Oversees the responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence
Opens and closes the store
Provides direction, guidance, training, instruction, performance management and support to all store associates as required
Ensures store conditions are consistently upheld to established standards
Assists in creating weekly staffing schedules
ensuring staffing levels adequately meet business needs
Liaise with the various departments of the store to ensure information is conveyed properly and expectations are communicated
May be directly responsible for managing individual departments
Greets and assists customers in a way that models exemplary conduct to other staff
Ensures customer’s needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is quick and efficient
Ensures all health, safety and food regulations are adhered to and required standards are met
Oversees and assists in inventory management
Conducts store tours daily to ensure customer readiness
Ensures all departments are ready for business at all times
Leads staff to meet store operational goals and quality delivery of customer service
Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards
Ensures company policies and relevant legislation are consistently adhered to and upheld by all staff members
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience working in a large format grocery/supermarket
Minimum 3 years of work experience in a Manager/Supervisor role in a retail/supermarket
Post-secondary education and/or experience in merchandising and/or business management
Exceptional customer service skills with a talent for building customer loyalty
Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
Demonstrated ability to train and motivate staff
Able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong customer service, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential
Understanding of applicable health, safety and food legislation
Available to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
