Job Description

The Assistant Store Leader supports the Store Leader in managing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and achieving sales goals. They oversee staff training, handle inventory management, and help maintain a positive and efficient store environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for opening and closing the store
  • Assist with implementation of Store Support Center programs
  • Ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety and Internal Audits
  • Work with Store Leader and other Assistant Leaders
  • Participate in weekly management staff meetings
  • Communicate issues to appropriate Store Support Center department
  • Assist with special projects within the district
  • Implement new Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness
  • Ensure weekly price changes and label updates are completed
  • Oversee all cashiering functions including training, maintenance, audits, and reports
  • Manage and direct preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Visit competition to be familiar with what they are doing
  • Assist to ensure forklift operations and receiving is completed safely
  • Assist to ensure receiving, checking in and stocking adheres to best practices
  • Responsible for maintenance of back stock levels
  • Assist to ensure cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining desirable product inventory levels
  • Assist with merchandise resets
  • Assist to ensure all signage is current
  • Assist in presenting a clean and orderly sales floor
  • Assist in training of all associates
  • Actively recruit and promote the advancement of associates
  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding and coaching Head Cashiers and Cashiers
  • Manage all aspects of store operations in alliance with and in the absence of the General Manager
  • Lead by example

Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Completion of NHRA Advanced Course in Hardware Retailing recommended
  • Previous retail management experience highly preferred
  • Hardware experience preferred
  • Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50lbs) and climbing
