Job Description:

The Assistant Sommelier at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong ensures exceptional service and adherence to luxury hospitality standards. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining dining room standards, inspecting inventory, and ensuring excellent guest experiences.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure staff works as a team
Monitor dining rooms for guest service and safety
Inspect storage areas for cleanliness and FIFO compliance
Complete inventories and manage stock
Assist management in employee-related tasks like hiring and training
Maintain adherence to The Ritz-Carlton's Gold Standards
Perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Requirements:

Ensure staff works as a team
Inspect grooming and attire of staff
Complete opening and closing duties
Inspect storage areas for organization and cleanliness
Complete inventories and requisition supplies
Monitor dining rooms for seating, service, and guest well-being
Assist management in hiring, training, and evaluating employees
Maintain confidentiality and enforce security policies
Ensure uniform cleanliness and professional appearance
Follow safety and security procedures
Perform physically demanding tasks like lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Follow The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards.

Nice to have:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
At least 2 years of related work experience
At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
