Job Responsibility:
Ensure delivery of site targets for all departments within the Site, in terms of sales & profitability through the effective management of all store operations, i.e, Forecourt & Spar, with an overview of Deli, Supermac’s & Papa Johns
To assist the Site Operations manager in the daily operations of the site, with particular emphasis on all retail and forecourt operations, and ensure all departments are monitored on a daily basis to ensure efficient service and maximum profitability
Assist with recruitment, training, and development of high-quality personnel for retail and forecourt, and assist other departments as required within the site
Overseeing rostering for Retail and Forecourt and general management of personnel to ensure adequate cover within budgetary provisions, whilst maintaining quality service to our customers
Participate in management meetings and communicate effectively with the team
Plan and organise all aspects of the operation to include all Fuel, Retail (Convenience Shop), together with ancillary offerings on site provided to the customer
In the absence of the Operations Manager, take the leading role, oversee operations, and lead by example
Assisting in managing the overall performance of the site, and driving operations to ensure this store is maximised
Merchandising professionally, using planograms where necessary to maximize space and offerings
Manage the performance of the team utilising effective performance management techniques and in line with labour law
Continually communicate with Managers regarding objectives and store performance
Meet targets as agreed
To undertake other additional duties as may be assigned by the company
Requirements:
Proven ability in managing diverse retail/food sites offering
Planning & organising ability
Problem solving
Managing performance (of all employees in Forecourt & Retail areas)
Excellent operational knowledge of the retail environment
Excellent interpersonal relations
Excellent understanding of consumer needs
Proven track record in achieving agreed targets
Ability to get involved with the local community positively, leading to goodwill and loyalty
Financial skills with previous experience in budgets and profit and loss accounts
Working knowledge of Labour Law, Health & Safety regulations, HACCP, and Consumer Law
An excellent commercial acumen with the ability to anticipate and react to market changes
Committed to continually improving standards

The ability to work in a pressurised environment
Computer skills
