Job Description:

Assistant SENCO – QTS not required – Lewisham Primary School. An inclusive mainstream school in Lewisham is searching for an Assistant SENCO to join them in the new academic year. Ideally, you will be able to start in September but the school can wait until later for a strong candidate.

Job Responsibility:

Supporting Quality First Teaching and Interventions across the schools
Liaising with external agencies, other settings and parents
Managing professional referrals and reports
Information gathering and the writing of EHCNAs and Annual Reviews
Supporting with aims of the School SEND Action Plans
The provision mapping cycle and liaising with class teachers

Requirements:

Experience working with SEN in schools (minimum two years)
Genuine interest in SEN
Track-record for supporting pupils directly, i.e TA/ESLA/HLTA/Learning Mentor
Confident, clear communicator that can be empathetic and understanding
