The Assistant General Manager of Vernick Fish, our award-winning fine dining restaurant, supports the General Manager in leading daily operations and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role is highly visible in the restaurant and plays a key part in fostering a positive team culture while ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and outstanding service.
Job Responsibility
Support and lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction
Be present on the floor, engaging with guests, handling concerns, and creating memorable dining experiences
Partner with the General Manager and culinary team to maintain the highest quality of food and beverage offerings
Manage labor and operating expenses through scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory control
Lead, coach, and inspire team members to achieve their full potential and promote a collaborative environment
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Contribute to strong public relations through service excellence and guest engagement
Requirements
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Proven track record of delivering high levels of guest satisfaction
Solid business acumen with experience managing costs and driving performance
Expertise in fine dining service and food & beverage operations
Knowledge of wine and beverage programs
Ability to manage guest concerns in a timely and professional manner
Familiarity with food safety and Department of Health requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
