Job Description

As an Assistant Residence Manager, you will support the daily operations of the residence to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well‑managed living environment for all residents. You will work closely with the Residence Manager and other team members to provide exceptional service, resolve issues promptly, and maintain high operational standards. This role combines leadership, customer service, administration, and community engagement.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Residence Manager in overseeing daily residence operations
  • Supervise front‑line staff and ensure excellent service delivery
  • Handle resident inquiries, concerns, and incident reports professionally
  • Assist in maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance with organisational standards
  • Monitor occupancy levels and assist with reporting and documentation
  • Help plan and deliver community‑building activities and programs
  • Conduct regular inspections of residence facilities and escalate issues when needed
  • Participate in staff, training, and performance support
  • Act as the point of contact during the Director of Residences Residence Manager’s absence

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
  • Experience in hospitality, property management, student housing, or customer service (preferred)
  • Excellent problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive community environment

  • Supporting leasing and marketing efforts by greeting prospective residents, gathering information about the prospect via the Guest Card, showing ready apartments and models, closing and obtaining the lease deposit, and assisting the prospective resident in completing the rental application and credit verification
  • Completes various accounting, financial, administrative, and other reports and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary
