Job Description

A long-established, design-focused construction consultancy in London is seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure across heritage, residential, education, and public sector projects, many of which involve complex refurbishments and conservation-led schemes. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will play a key supporting role across multiple projects, working closely with experienced professionals. This Assistant Quantity Surveyor position offers hands-on involvement, structured development, and real project variety. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will join a consultancy known for its technical expertise and collaborative culture. Job Responsibility

  • Support the commercial delivery of projects from early design stages through to completion
  • assist with cost planning, procurement, and tender analysis
  • contribute to contract administration duties
  • work alongside senior team members, clients, and design teams to help ensure projects are delivered within budget and programme
  • assist with valuations, variations, and final accounts

Requirements

  • 1-3 years' experience within a consultancy or main contractor environment
  • basic understanding of pre- and post-contract duties
  • experience with JCT contracts is beneficial
  • degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred
  • desire to work towards MRICS
  • detail-oriented
  • proactive
  • keen to develop within a technically strong consultancy
