The Commercial team is responsible for providing a fast and responsive service to customers, building on customer relations, and generating strategies to increase opportunities and profitability within the Airfields business. As our next Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be logically minded, possess excellent organisational skills, and be confident dealing formally and informally with customers. With relevant and proven experience, you will also have excellent IT and numerical skills, the ability to work under pressure, and the drive to excel in the delivery of business objectives and targets.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with the commercial administration of the project, including but not limited to cost control, monthly reporting and record keeping
Assist with the preparation of interim valuations, compensation events and final account
Liaise with the site engineers to ensure As Bulit’s are up to date
Assist with subcontractor management, including payment notices, payless notices and compensation events
Maintain commercial registers
Assist with risk and opportunity analysis
Assist with monthly CVRs, forecasts and cashflow projections
Check and verify site instructions and assist with producing associated compensation events
Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract requirements and statutory obligations
Attend progress meetings and assist in preparing commercial reports and documentation
Requirements:
Basic understanding of NEC contracts
Awareness of construction methods and project delivery processes
Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar related discipline is desirable
Experience in a construction commercial role of 1-2 years is desirable
Exposure to subcontractor management is advantageous
Exposure to monthly CVRs is advantageous
CSCS card or willingness to obtain one
Full UK Driving Licence
Nice to have:
Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar related discipline is desirable
Experience in a construction commercial role of 1-2 years is desirable
Exposure to subcontractor management is advantageous
