This position will cover job functions for the Quality Department and will be responsible for metallurgical activities and laboratory operations at the site. It will also ensure compliance with the Quality Management System for the campus, as well as oversee day-to-day activities and the development of quality team members. This includes customer satisfaction (complaints, response time, ePPM) and financial performance of Quality (COPQ).
Job Responsibility:
To carryout Raw material analysis on time and providing clearance for production
To Carry out in process Metallurgical Inspection of regular and development items
Carry out Failure analysis of customer returned sample
Coordinate with production units for metallurgical issues and corrective action
On time calibration of metallurgical instruments & AMC
On time response for providing metallurgical inspection to production units with no delay
ISO 9001: 2015 Audit Preparation and Co-ordination
Failure analysis of Customer complaints through 8D approach & CAPA
Implementation of Corporate Initiatives
Sintering furnace scrap reduction and its review
Trend analysis and periodic review with CFT
Customer interaction along with sales team to provide technical clarification
Coordination with CFT team to analyze the root cause
Third party inspection coordination
Requirements:
8+ years minimum in Metallurgy in any industry
Requires bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy
Knowledge of relevant standards and requirements
Knowledge of Metallurgical instruments & equipment’s, heat treat, special processes, coating technologies
Must be able to retrieve and interpret drawings & specifications
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Expertise in customer complaint management, root cause analysis, 8D methodology and mistake proofing
Must be able to use required computer software including but not limited to SAP, Microsoft Office
Must be able to read and understand routings and operating procedures
Must be able to determine defect criteria with product engineering
Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise (core tools)
Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
Must have knowledge of Metals and special process
Ability to lead Metallurgical lab and take decision with respect to metallurgical parameters
Must have a base knowledge of SAP or aptitude to be trained in the application (SAP QM)
Must be able to create process documents and audit processes to requirements, openly communicating findings
Must be able to work within cross functional teams through complex tasks exercising strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization (operators, supervision, plant leadership, engineering, quality management, operational excellence management, director levels) and customers
Basic project management skills required to drive actions which are agreed cross-functionally to drive targeted improvement
