Job Description:

The Assistant Purchasing Manager at the Miri Marriott Resort & Spa is responsible for managing purchasing operations and inventory, ensuring food safety and compliance with regulations, and maintaining company policies. The role includes supervising employees, ensuring high standards, and fostering a positive team environment. Job Responsibility:

  • Print and organize various necessary documents
  • summarize relevant information
  • distribute information to appropriate employees
  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of company safety programs
  • adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures
  • maintain clear and organized records
  • calculate figures for inventories, orders, and costs
  • conduct inventory audits
  • notify manager/supervisor of low stock levels
  • troubleshoot vendor delivery issues
  • oversee return process
  • verify and track received inventory
  • reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports
  • receive, unload, and process deliveries
  • monitor PAR levels for food items
  • refuse acceptance of damaged or incorrect items
  • train, schedule, counsel, discipline, motivate and coach employees
  • ensure uniform and professional appearance
  • maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • protect company assets
  • assist other employees to ensure guest service
  • speak and write professionally
  • develop positive working relationships
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • move, lift, push, pull, and carry objects under 50 pounds
  • move through narrow spaces and stairs
  • perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience
