Job Responsibility

  • Assessing and supporting adults with a forensic history, delivering a holistic and psychological informed approach aligned to the Consensus Forensic I-Path
  • Providing support and training to colleagues within forensic services
  • Assisting in the delivery of psychological care, assessing and supporting individuals with a forensic history as part of the Consensus Forensic Team
  • Conducting risk and needs assessments under the supervision of a qualified forensic psychologist using standardised tools
  • Contributing to the referral process for individuals with a forensic history, including participation in Enablement Panels
  • Collaborating with the forensic psychologist in formulating psychological assessment and planning support and risk management strategies
  • Working with the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT), providing insights into psychological aspects of care, diagnosis, formulation and treatment planning

Requirements

  • Undergraduate psychology degree with Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) with the British Psychological Society
  • Experience of working in a psychologically informed role, ideally supporting individuals with complex needs, offending behaviour, or significant mental health difficulties
  • Ability to communicate psychological concepts clearly to non-psychology staff
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a qualified psychologist and to seek guidance appropriately
