Job Description:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Property Underwriter to join a specialist Property Underwriting team operating under a delegated authority scheme. The team focuses exclusively on Property underwriting and has a strong track record of profitable growth. Working alongside experienced underwriters, you'll play a key role in supporting the growth and management of the property binder portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality underwriting decisions.

Job Responsibility:

Support the underwriting process by providing quotations under supervision within delegated authority limits
Apply underwriting guidelines accurately and escalate complex decisions when appropriate
Assist in issuing and managing documentation for new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments (MTAs)
Maintain accurate bordereaux returns, underwriting records, and reports
Support compliance with audits, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures
Contribute to insurer and broker relationship management by providing professional and timely support
Engage actively in ongoing training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Requirements:

Interest in pursuing a long-term career in underwriting
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident working with data, spreadsheets, and documentation
Clear written and verbal communication
Exposure to commercial insurance or underwriting (through work, study, or internship)
Experience using systems such as Acturis or similar

Nice to have:
