Morson are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of fleet heavy overhaul maintenance projects within a complex operational environment. The role involves supporting the Project Manager in coordinating day-to-day delivery activities, managing assigned work packages, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Job Responsibility
Support the delivery of project and programme workstreams, including responsibility for assigned packages of work
Assist in managing day-to-day project activities in line with agreed scope, schedule, and budget
Contribute to achieving project milestones and deliverables to time, cost, and quality requirements
Support project governance and reporting activities including progress and performance reporting, risk and issue management, budget and financial tracking, planning and scheduling, document control
Apply project controls tools and techniques to monitor delivery
Identify emerging issues, risks, and trends impacting delivery
Provide analysis and recommendations for resolution
Escalate issues and potential corrective actions to the Project Manager as required
Build effective relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders, including service providers
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a matrix-managed environment
Support knowledge sharing and best practice across project teams
Contribute to improving project management practices and delivery approaches
Share lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives
Support compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation
Promote a strong safety culture within project delivery activities
Identify and escalate safety concerns where necessary
Deputise for the Project Manager when required
Support the management of project plans and tracking of delivery against agreed objectives

Experience working in complex, multi-disciplinary, matrix-managed environments
Experience supporting project delivery, particularly in identifying and escalating risks/issues
Experience working in high-pressure environments delivering to time, budget, and quality targets
Experience delivering defined work packages within projects
Knowledge of project and programme management methodologies and practical application
Ability to work in accordance with structured project delivery methodologies and corporate standards
Knowledge of project controls tools and techniques
Experience working within a depot environment

APMP (or similar project management qualification)
