The Assistant Construction Project Manager (APM) supports the planning and execution of construction projects in various sectors – industrial, commercial, healthcare, education, etc. This role assists with daily project coordination, documentation, cost tracking, and subcontractor management while developing the skills needed to progress into a Project Manager role.
Job Responsibility:
Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project execution
Support scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting
Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement items
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
Participate in project meetings, progress reviews, and safety planning
Maintain organized and accurate project documentation
Assist with look-ahead schedules and field coordination
Support quality inspections, punch lists, and closeout documentation
Promote and support jobsite safety initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
0-5 years of experience in construction or project coordination
Basic understanding of construction drawings, schedules, and contracts
Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, and cost tracking
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
Strong organizational and communication skills
Willingness to work on-site in an active construction environment
Basic understanding of BIM modeling
able to manipulate a BIM model
