Job Description:

Construction company in the Ronkonkoma area seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager / APM to join their growing PM team. This role offers plenty of career upside in working with an established and team-oriented department. Your job will have you supporting project managers and ensuring the successful execution of projects from start to finish. As part of a collaborative and dynamic team, you will play a vital role in maintaining efficiency, building client relationships, and contributing to the overall profitability of the company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist project managers in coordinating schedules, materials, and resources to ensure timely project completion
  • Monitor and update project schedules to reflect the status of ongoing activities and milestones
  • Facilitate communication between departments, vendors, and clients to align project expectations and deliverables
  • Support the management of change orders, including documentation, tracking, and status updates
  • Oversee material procurement and coordinate with vendors to meet project requirements and deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities and ensure all documentation is organized and accessible
  • Collaborate with estimating and drafting teams to streamline processes and meet project deadlines
  • Help manage project close-out activities, including final documentation and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Build and nurture client relationships to promote future business opportunities and sales

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project management or a related role
  • Preference for experience in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints
  • Familiarity with commercial construction projects and processes
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, drafting, and Bluebeam Revu software, preferred
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and client interaction
  • Project Management Certification is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work both in an office setting

Nice to have:

  • Project Management Certification
