Job Description:

An established multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager within their education sector team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the delivery of primary and secondary school refurbishments, academy trust expansions and further education campus upgrades
  • Assist in delivering projects across RIBA Stages 1-7
  • Support procurement via traditional and Design & Build routes under JCT contracts
  • Contribute to programme monitoring, risk management and compliance with ESFA and local authority funding requirements
  • Attend stakeholder meetings with headteachers, estates managers and contractor teams
  • Assist in preparing tender documentation, managing change control and supporting contract administration duties
  • Deliver projects within live school environments, requiring careful phasing and safeguarding awareness

Requirements:

  • Prior construction consultancy experience as an Assistant Project Manager
  • Construction-related degree
  • Working towards MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB status
  • Previous consultancy experience delivering education or public sector projects
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts and framework delivery
