JLL is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager specializing in MEP systems to support our project delivery team in managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations across commercial real estate projects. Job Responsibility:
MEP Project Support & Coordination Assist in managing MEP installations for office fit-outs, base building upgrades, and new construction projects
Support coordination of mechanical systems (HVAC, ventilation), electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm), and plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, fire protection)
Track MEP deliverables, submittal schedules, and installation milestones to ensure seamless integration with overall project timelines
Technical Documentation & Review Review MEP drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance with design intent
Assist in coordinating MEP submittals with design consultants and ensuring timely approvals
Maintain comprehensive project documentation including RFIs, change orders, and as-built drawings
Support preparation of technical reports and project status updates for client presentations
Contractor & Vendor Management Coordinate with MEP contractors and specialty vendors to ensure quality installation and adherence to project specifications
Assist in conducting site inspections and progress meetings focused on MEP systems
Support evaluation of contractor performance and compliance with safety protocols
Help facilitate resolution of technical issues and coordination conflicts between trades
Quality Control & Compliance Participate in MEP commissioning activities and system testing procedures
Assist in ensuring MEP installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and local regulations
Support coordination of inspections with building authorities and utility companies
Help maintain quality control documentation and punch list management for MEP systems
Project Administration Assist in budget tracking and cost reporting for MEP components
Support invoice review and approval processes for MEP contractors
Help maintain project schedules and identify potential delays or conflicts
Coordinate MEP-related meetings and distribute meeting minutes and action items to stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field
6+ years of experience in construction, MEP consulting, or project coordination roles
Internship or co-op experience in commercial construction or MEP design firms preferred
Strong understanding of MEP systems and their integration in commercial buildings
Familiarity with HVAC design principles, electrical distribution systems, and plumbing codes
Knowledge of building automation systems, energy management, and sustainable building practices
Experience with MEP design software (AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP) and project management tools beneficial
Excellent organizational abilities with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Project
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with diverse project stakeholders
Self-motivated individual with eagerness to learn and grow within the project management discipline
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic with commitment to quality and client service excellence
Willingness to travel to project sites and conduct field inspections as required
