The Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health within the School of Public Health and Primary Care is actively seeking a highly motivated and accomplished individual for the position of Assistant Professor in Environmental Health. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service. Job Responsibility
Significantly contribute to curriculum development
Regularly publish in peer-reviewed international journals or other relevant outlets
Potentially edit collections of work or meeting proceedings
Chairing sessions at, or serving on the organizing committees of, academic conferences or relevant disciplinary meetings
Demonstrate emerging academic leadership in their teaching and/or research specialty
Be prepared to take on administrative duties at the Department or School level
Requirements
PhD in a relevant field with at least 5 years of teaching experience at the Lecturer rank or equivalent
OR Doctoral degree in a related life-science STEM or physical science field with extensive application-based experience in environmental health (candidates who are ABD will be considered)
Alternative Qualification: Master's in a relevant Public Health (PH) discipline combined with Fellowship registration with the relevant international colleges
A proven record of post-doctoral and/or undergraduate teaching experience
Demonstrated evidence of a strong research and/or publication record
Demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in learning and teaching, with the potential to further develop teaching skills
Demonstrated involvement in at least one of the following: University Service (administration), Community Service (contributions to the wider profession), Academic Leadership and Collegiality
Nice to have
A strong and ongoing record of scholarly activities, including but not limited to publications (especially in ranked journals), scientific presentations, and successful grant writing
A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and Master's levels, including the effective use of instructional technology and dedication to quality improvement in learning
A clear dedication to continuous professional attainment and growth within the field
