We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Assistant Professor to join the founding academic team at the University of Liverpool’s India Campus. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate Computing Science programmes at the University of Liverpool’s India Campus, while actively engaging in research aligned with the University’s strategic focus on Data and Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines and with industry, contributing to the University's research vision. Job Responsibility:
To contribute to the design, development, delivery, assessment, and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered
To provide academic supervision for undergraduate dissertations and MSc. project work
To supervise and support students directly, identifying learning needs, defining learning objectives, and maintaining a high standard of academic guidance and mentorship
To engage with innovative, inclusive, and modern pedagogical approaches, implementing best practices in university teaching and learning
To contribute to ongoing curriculum enhancement, ensuring alignment with international academic standards, research advancements, and evolving industry needs
To undertake academic and administrative duties as assigned by your academic line manager
To participate actively in the development and delivery of the School’s strategic and operational objectives
To conduct cutting-edge research in field of Computing Science/Game Design closely related to our core research and interdisciplinary research strengths within agent-based research, machine learning, cybersecurity and privacy, natural language generation, human-centred computing and data science
Develop collaborative research links with our academic staff in our home campus in Liverpool
To prepare and submit manuscripts for publications in leading international conferences and journals
Develop engagement with external partners, including industry, NGOs, local and national government
Take responsibility for the supervision and training of postgraduate research students
Adhere to all University policies and procedures, completing all obligatory training and induction modules, including Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety
Respect confidentiality: all confidential information should be kept in confidence and not released to unauthorised persons

Requirements:
Track record of teaching excellence at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with the ability to engage, inspire, and support diverse student cohorts
Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, with a minimum of 2–10 years of academic delivery, including significant contributions to both undergraduate and postgraduate education
Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver high-quality course materials in Computing Science, demonstrating pedagogical effectiveness and curriculum alignment
Active engagement with subject-specific pedagogic research or educational networks, reflecting a commitment to continuous improvement and evidence-based teaching practices
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively to departmental and institutional goals
