The EKU School of Aviation invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin August 6, 2026. This position serves the Aviation program.
Job Responsibility:
Teach undergraduate courses in the Aviation program
Maintain an active scholarly agenda
Conduct academic advising for professional flight, aerospace management, air traffic management and unmanned aircraft systems students
Participate in service to the department, university, and community
Serve as faculty advisor for student organizations
Develop and foster aviation industry connections
Participate in curriculum implementation, revision, and evaluation
Participate in recruitment events
Requirements:
Relevant master’s degree from an accredited institution at the time of appointment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Commitment to a continuous improvement process and the outcome-based assessment of the programs
Commitment to teaching excellence, service, and scholarship
Three years of experience
Nice to have:
Aviation-related terminal degree
Applicable flight ratings
Recent experience in the aviation industry or an aviation academic setting
Experience with a University FAR Part 141 Flight Training program
Doctorate in a related field
Emphasis in an Aviation or Aerospace subject area
Knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline
