We are a large Supermarket in a very competitive area seeking an innovative, customer focused and enthusiastic assistant manager whose skills and attributes can be utilised in our Produce Department. We require someone with the ability and passion to continue to challenge, drive and grow the business. The successful applicant is a person who can assist in the planning, organising, leading and controlling of the operations of a Produce Department. This is a full time, waged position, reporting directly to the Produce Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Exceeding Customers' service expectations
  • Further develop and introduce new products
  • Ensure a consistently high level of presentation in the Produce Department
  • Managing operations and production to meet customers' requirements
  • Organising, leading and coaching of staff
  • Ensuring standards of all products are achieved and maintained

  • Monitoring and managing production to minimise waste
  • The achievement of Sales, Gross Profit and Wage budgets

  • Responsible for crisping, trimming, wrapping, and displaying produce in merchandise cases and on produce tables
  • Supervise, coach, and develop employees
  • Monitor inventory levels and shrink reduction, and rotate stock to guarantee freshness
  • Build customer-attracting merchandise displays
  • Ensure customers get the products they need
  • Maintain equipment as directed by the manufacturer
